Uploading a photo or logo from your computer

Date: 27/11/2006
It's easy to add a photo or logo which is stored on your computer's hard drive as an image file:

1-Click on the "Browse" link on the photo or logo submission box.

2 -Locate and select the image you want to upload from your hard drive.
3 - Click on "Add Photo."

Repeat these steps if you want to upload your company logo.

You may delete a photo by clicking on delete, next to the file name.

Click "Done" when you have finished adding your photo or logo. This will bring you back to the item submission page. You should then see the titles of the photo / logo under the Upload link.

If you want to change the photo once you've submitted your public profile, go to your 'My Public Pofile' page and edit from there.

Requirements for uploading your images and logos

All images and logos submitted must be:
RGB
JPEG, GIF or PNG file format
File size less than 2 MB
Named properly - use only the 26 letters of the alphabet, the 10 digits and a period ( . ).
Do not use the following or anything similar: $ # & / \| @ % * ( )

Photo resizing

The online upload will automatically resize photos to 170 pixels wide or 170 pixels tall, which ever occurs first. (If the image is greater in height than it is wide, it will be 170 pixels high and the width will remain proportionally and be less. If the image is wider that it is in height, it will be 170 pixels wide and the height will remain proportionally less.)

For example, if your images were captured with a film and then digitized on a CD, you need not go through and crop all the images to 170 pixels tall or wide. Instead, make sure the image is cropped properly and the file size is less than 2MB. Then upload it. Our web site will resize the image.

Logo resizing

The online upload will automatically resize logos to 80 pixels wide or 80 pixels tall, which ever occurs first.

If you feel the need to manipulate your images in an image editing program like Adobe Photoshop, you can tightly control the cropping, focus and color of the image. These programs make it easy to crop the images to focus attention on your work. If you are comfortable doing this, you can save time uploading images. Warning: be sure to save your images as high quality JPEGs. Low quality JPEGs tend to look blurry with a loss of accurate color.
