AA Rosette for The Old Dining Room

Congratulations to head chef Steve Piddock and his team at the Old Dining Room Restaurant who have been awarded a prized AA Rosette. The award recognises excellent local restaurants serving food prepared with care, understanding and skill, using good quality ingredients.
Situated in Sandwich, The Old Dining Room source all their menu ingredients from suppliers who are really passionate about food. Seasonal produce is a source of inspiration for the menus in the restaurant, conservatory and bar.
The vegetables, orchard fruits, salads, herbs and cob-nuts, are mostly from the farms on the doorstep, in the 'Garden of England'. Their meat and game is fully traceable from pasture to plate and comes from Kent butchers JC Rooks whose connections with the meat industry can be traced back to the 18th century. The fish is landed at Hastings and Ramsgate by fishermen Paul Hodges and Eddie Gilbert respectively and delivered direct to the door. All the fish is from day boats ensuring that it is extremely fresh as well as ethically caught. All their puddings are homemade, use fresh ingredients, and follow traditional recipes. The Old Dining Room run a series of promotions throughout the year, celebrating the best of the seasonal and local produce. For further details visit their website - www.olddiningroom.co.uk
