Half Term Family Fun at Hole Park Gardens

On Wednesday 25th, Thursday 26th and Sunday 29th October 2023 Hole Park Gardens in Rolvenden, Kent will be open for visitors to enjoy the autumn colour with additional fun activities for families to enjoy during half term.

Everyone can enjoy a Pumpkin Trail round the gardens to hunt for the letters which will make up a well-known autumn word and get involved in a Tree Hunt, to help children to identify native British trees found round the gardens and woodland. When the trail is complete the Rolls Room (next to the Coach House tearoom) will be open with some undercover activities including Leaf Rubbing and a colouring competition. When the trail and activities are handed in, children will receive a chocolate reward!

On the trail discover the delightful carved wooden sculpture of a family of bears climbing a tree to reach a honey pot and the renovated ‘Ice House’ which was built in around 1740 to store ice long before the days of refrigeration.

All the Children’s activities are just £2.00 per child when booked in advance on the Hole Park website*.

The Coach House Tearoom will have some delicious lunch options available including Pumpkin Soup, Mr Wards Benenden Bangers and homemade Cakes. A children’s £4.50 meal deal can also be prebooked* to include a roll with ham/cheese/sausage, Tyrells crisps, a Hole Park grown apple and a sweet baked treat with a glass of Hole Park apple juice.

Hole Park is a riot of autumn colour at this time of year with some magnificent mature trees including oaks and Japanese Maples providing striking autumn colour alongside the stunning exotic border of cannas and dahlias. The beautiful late flowering agapanthus ‘Hole Park Blue’ can also be seen around the gardens.

Open on Wednesday and Thursdays until the end of October in addition to Sundays on 1, 8, 15 22 and 29 October 2023. Opening hours 11am to dusk.

*Online prices provide a saving compared to on the day rates – Trails and childrens lunches are £2.50 and £5 respectively if not prebooked and are subject to availability.
