The Mulberry Tree is a contemporary country restaurant and bar with a relaxed, informal atmosphere serving excellent food and wine and service. It is set at the foot of The Greensand Way, only 4 miles from Staplehurst with a sunny terrace and garden for al fresco dining. The restaurant has twice won Kent Restaurant of the Year, is featured in the Michelin Guide and has been awarded two AA Rosettes.
There are two menus served – the main lunch and dinner menu with dishes individually priced, or the set menu which is fantastic value at £19.95 for three courses, including some of the scrumptious homemade bread. Sunday lunch is £24.95 for three courses.
The restaurant is licensed for civil ceremonies and has stunning views of the countryside. It is also available for exclusive use for private parties.
The cuisine style is modern British & European using seasonal, free-range and organic produce that is sourced from local suppliers from within The Weald of Kent, in what really is The Garden of England. The philosophy is to offer value for money, using only the best, local ingredients.
There is an extensive wine list that includes many New World wines from smaller vineyards, together with the more well-known names, including English wines. Many of the wines are served by the glass and there is a full selection of beers, both draught and bottled available, together with locally sourced, organic soft drinks.
