The Mount Vineyard is situated in the idyllic village of Shoreham in Kent. The Romans grew grapes in the area and the sunny microclimate of our chalk-stream valley is conducive to excellence in the grapes.
The soil is flinty and chalky with the vines on a gentle slope down to the crystal clear River Darenth.
The Mount Vineyard was established in 2004 with a first planting of 8,500 vines. This was increased to 13,000 vines in 2006 with a further planting of 4,500 vines in a total area of 10 acres.
