Biddenden Vineyards, Kent’s original commercial vineyard, pride themselves on being a family run vineyard with the second and third generation of the Barnes family managing the estate.
The single estate vineyard spans 23 acres of gentle south facing slopes situated in a sheltered valley, just outside the picturesque Wealden village of Biddenden.
11 different grape varieties are grown at Biddenden to produce an array of award winning White, Rosé, Red and Sparkling English wines.
The ‘famous’ range of Strong Kentish Ciders have also been made on the estate for over 40 years. Created using the traditional Barnes’ family recipe, all Biddenden’s ciders are produced from a blend of farm-pressed, quality Kentish culinary and dessert apples.
The classic farm pressed juices and the Clearly Juice collection are also made on the estate using locally sourced apples and pears.
The vineyard is open to visitors throughout the year and admission and tastings are free of charge.
Visitors are able to book group tours, private guided tours, or free guided tours which run on Saturdays all year round and Wednesdays June to the end of September at 10am. To book please call 01580 291726.
