We are holding a free Training Workshop for Kent producers: ‘Stepping Stones to Attracting New Customers’

10am-1.30pm on Tuesday 29th October at The Fruit Rooms, The Packhouse, Seven Mile Lane, Mereworth, Maidstone, ME18 5NE.

This workshop is a prelude to a local produce ‘Meet the Buyer’ event for Kent producers being planned for early next year and will ensure you are well prepared for this event.

The workshop will include:

Good Pricing

Kerry Kyriacou from KK Consulting will cover: Pricing your products to allow growth of the business; understanding ALL your costs; price versus brand, making sure you are competitive, ensuring you are profitable when factoring in wholesale and retail margins; and understanding margins and mark ups.

Getting Products Listed

Susannah Hewett, proprietor of Eggs to Apples, a very successful independent Farm Shop will cover the nuts and bolts of supplying your products to a retailer, including: Approaching a retailer; presenting your products to the buyer; clear pricing; negotiating the price to buy/sell; agreeing terms; supporting your products once they are listed; and building a good, long-term relationship with the retailer.

Low Cost Marketing

Paula Seager, MD of Natural PR, will cover: Choosing the right market for you; telling your story, presenting your products with marketing, making the most of PR and social media.
