Join Master Sommelier Laura Rhys for an exclusive insight into producing and tasting single varietal wines from the Chardonnay grape. It is a grape that can be very expressive of its surroundings, leading to wines showcasing a broad and complex range of flavours. We will explore the multifaceted nature of this variety as we take a detailed look into both winery and library, sampling base wines in the early stages of winemaking, to young and older vintages of both still and sparkling wines from across our finished portfolio. A three-course lunch will follow, with wine pairings.
We will finish the day with the opportunity to purchase a selection of these rare wines, some of which are very limited and only available to guests on the day.
Special vintages to be sampled on the day include:
- Blanc de Blancs 2015 – a wine with great structure and ageability
- Blanc de Blancs 2016 – a personal favourite of Head Winemaker Charlie Holland
- Chardonnay Guinevere 2018 – one of the ripest vintages, and a pioneering year for our still wines.
- Chardonnay 809 2019 – a limited release of a special 'clone' of Chardonnay with distinct aromatic complexity
