24th-24th September 2022
To celebrate the Pilgrims Festival we are inviting visitors to come and see how amazing Kent produce can be and make your own pilgrims pizza.
Ashford, UK
With the help of Baker Chris Foster and the South East Grain Alliance, we have locally milled our own Millers Choice Heritage wheat. This is a diverse population of historic wheat that would have been a popular choice grown in Kent for centuries and eaten by past pilgrims before the mechanisation and hybridization we see today.
Over 100 hours of labour have been required to build our cob oven using local natural materials and salvage.
The toppings will also be predominantly from our plot using no-dig permaculture methods.
You will be able to tour the plot, learn about what we do and enjoy good social and excellent, hyper local sourdough pizza.
Starting at 3.30pm we will gather and take small parties on tours of the plot while others tuck into the first rounds of pizza. We will learn how we can grow abundance of food on a small scale while restoring our precious landscape. we will also gain lots of insight on growing wheat and creating sourdough. Meet some fellow pilgrims and some locals and enjoy the beauty of the Landscape until 6pm
£15 per person
Soft drinks will be available for sale BYOB
