Harvest Dinner At Macknade

29th-29th September 2021

Macknade & Wine Garden of England To Host Harvest Dinner

Macknade, Kent’s food and drink experts, in collaboration with Wine Garden of England, are set to host a very special Harvest Dinner on Thursday 30th September.

Macknade Manor, Canterbury Rd, Faversham ME13 8XE, UK

01795 534497

Shane Godwin, Macknade MD said: ‘We’re thrilled to be able to host this event. We’re so lucky to have incredible producers and growers right here in Kent and the Harvest Dinner gives us the perfect opportunity to shine a spotlight on them.

Setting a sparkling tone for the evening ahead, ticket holders will enjoy a glass of Taittinger as they embark on an exclusive guided tour of Domaine Evremond, led by Master of Wine, Patrick McGrath. The unique vineyard, home to Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier grapes, was planted in 2015 as a partnership between Champagne Taittinger and Hatch Mansfield.

Returning to Macknade Faversham, guests will be greeted with drinks and canapes, before being seated for a five course tasting menu, hosted by Jo Smith from Wine Garden Of England and Finn Dunlop from Macknade.

Showcasing seasonal Kentish produce, every course will be perfectly paired with wines from Wine Garden Of England vineyards, including Gusbourne, Balfour Winery, Chapel Down, Simpsons, Biddenden and Squerryes. As each wine is poured, Patrick McGrath will be on hand, talking guests through the tasting notes.

Jo Smith, Wine Garden Of England said: ‘The Wine Garden of England is delighted to team up with Macknade for this wonderful celebration of Harvest. It's a real privilege to visit the first vineyard in the UK owned by Champagne Taittinger, just at the time when the grapes are ready to pick. The dinner will be a great opportunity to taste wines from all 6 producing vineyards in the Wine Garden of England, I'm sure that guests will find a new favourite!’

In related news, Macknade and Wine Garden of England will also be holding in store tasting sessions throughout September, showcasing leading Kentish vineyards. Hosted by Jo Smith from Wine Garden of England the free tasting sessions will run on a variety of dates at Macknade Faversham, Macknade at Hoopers Tunbridge Wells and Macknade Ashford from 11am – 3pm.
