Learn about growing food and caring for our environment

Hands-on sessions for young people in home education. This is a unique opportunity to be part of our educational activities and give children the chance to learn and appreciate nature, food and the world around them:

Our next 6 week program is as follows;

Lesson 1. Sept 14th: Aquatic Adventures - Go pond dipping and learn about life underwater.

Lesson 2. Sept 21st: Practical Session - Help us prepare the field for Autumn.

Lesson 3. Sept 28th: Fabulous Fungi - Mushrooms, their characteristics and identification.

Lesson 4. October 5th: Practical Session - Try your hand at a range of tasks including planting bulbs.

Lesson 5. October 12th: Amazing Arachnids - Get the facts about spiders.

Lesson 6. October 19th: Fabulous Feasts - Cook up some squashes in our new field kitchen.

Note: We are initially welcoming block bookings at a rate of £20 for 6 sessions. If you prefer individual sessions, tickets will be released at a later date, if available, priced at £5 each.

Good to know:

• This session is for younger children (ages 4-10). Please book a ticket per participating child.

• Registration 9.30, session runs 9.45-10.45.

• Booking is essential.

• Compost toilet and hand washing facilities available on site (no disabled toilet).

• Plants and vegetables will be available for sale (season dependent).

• Free parking is available.

• Non-participating younger siblings (0-4yrs) can attend. All children remain the responsibility of the adult who brings them.

• If after booking a ticket you (or a member of your household) are feeling unwell or are within a period of self isolation we kindly request not to attend the session.
