Gleaning Network UK

Was 2014 a bumper year for your crops? Did you struggle to find a market for all your amazing produce? Do you have delicious, nutritious wonky veg and ugly fruit going to waste?

If the answer is Yes! to any of these questions then we can help!

Gleaning Network aims to tackle the growing problem of food waste, reconnect the general public with where their food comes from and champion British Farmers.

We coordinate volunteers, farmers and food redistribution charities in order to salvage the thousands of tonnes of fresh fruit and vegetables that are unable to be sold by farmers every year across the UK, and direct this fresh, nutritious food to people in need. We can even help to find producers who would love to buy your wonky veg and ugly fruit.

Winners of the BBC Food and Farming Award for Best Initiative in British Food 2014, the Gleaning Network is due to be featured on Jamie and Jimmy’s Friday Night Feast on 23rd January as they take up the campaign in this series.
