Thursday 3rd to Sunday 8th October 2023
The 30th Tenterden Folk Festival will offer a taste of folk song, music, dance, crafts and traditions from Kent and beyond. Swing the Bridge, a lively traditional ceilidh band from Kent will be playing for an English barn dance and will be joined by caller Pete Coe from Yorkshire. Kent based young musicians Brown Boots (Will Allen & Martin Clarke), Erin Mansfield and Pip Ives also feature on the guest list and will be playing in concerts, song and music sessions and running workshops.
They join nationally known folk musicians including Discovery (Jeff & Elaine Gillet), Drywood (Denise Dryburgh and Phil Underwood), Keith Kendrick & Sylvia Needham, Mick Ryan & Paul Downes, Milton Hide (Jim and Josie Tipler), Pete Coe and Steve Turner as well as a host of singers and musicians from across Kent and the South East to make the 30th Tenterden Folk Festival extra special.
There will also, of course, be numerous Morris sides and folk dance display teams to give you a taste of the folk traditions of England and a huge marquee full of craft, music, food, drink and other stalls many of whom are also Kent based.
