Artisan ice cream brand, Simply Ice Cream, launch new dog ice cream range

Simply Ice Cream, an established artisan brand in the South East, have launched a sister brand producing natural frozen dog treats. Simply Pawfection is 100% natural and gluten free, and doesn’t contain any added sugar. The Simply Pawfection dog ice creams are made with just 4 natural ingredients.

The frozen dog treats are available in two flavours, natural and blueberry, and come in a callipo style tube for less mess. The natural flavour contains yoghurt, banana and peanut butter whilst the blueberry contains yoghurt, banana, peanut butter & blueberries.

The launch comes as Simply Ice Cream have been nominated as finalists across 3 food and business awards. Their rich and creamy (human) ice cream range has won numerous Great Taste awards over the years, and they can be found in over 450 outlets across Kent & The South East.

Simply Pawfection was the brain child of the company’s production manager, Charlotte Shaw. During the pandemic, with the majority of their retail stockists closed, the team were brainstorming new revenue streams; and being a group of dog lovers they thought why not create a natural and great quality dog ice cream?

The brands founder, Sally Newall, says “My family have always had dogs and we know what important companions they are. Being dog lovers we thought it would be a natural extension to create Simply Pawfection, keeping in line with our ethos of using minimal, high quality ingredients. There are no additives or preservatives in the dog ice cream, and all the ingredients are 100% natural”.

The Simply Pawfection packaging features two of the employees pet pooches, Pip – a golden Labrador and Gus – a Shih Tzu. Design agency, On the Button Design, created the logo and packaging, using the same pantone as the Simply Ice Cream branding. Each tube is fully recyclable. The frozen dog treats can be bought directly from the brand online, or at various independents throughout the South East.
