Baxter & Co appoint new Tax Manager

We recently appointed Emma Haines as a Manager in our Tax Department. Emma is a qualified Accountant and Chartered Tax Advisor who joins us with a wealth of experience from a City firm. As well as advising clients on Personal Tax matters, including submission of Tax Returns, Capital Gains Tax calculations and Inheritance Tax Planning, Emma will be able to assist clients with exploring the potential for Research and Development claims. A successful Research and Development claim for Small and Medium sized entities allows an additional 130% uplift on the amount spent on R&D projects which can either be set off against taxable profits or, for a loss making company, a tax credit of 14.5% can be claimed. For large companies a R&D Expenditure Credit of 11% of qualifying R&D costs can be claimed.
