The Bay Tree Hotel in Broadstairs launches festive menus

The Bay Tree Hotel in Broadstairs will be welcoming lunch and dinner guests for Christmas and New Year for the first time this winter. The hotel underwent a major refurbishment at the end of 2017 and now includes a larger dining room and all day kitchen. With its location minutes from Stone Bay but interior design worthy of a Michelin star restaurant, The Bay Tree aims to satisfy a range of tastes and needs. As well as serving the hotel guests, The Bay Tree Hotel restaurant is open to members of the public seven days a week and 365 days a year. October sees the unveiling of its latest seasonal menus, put together by head chef Volodymyr Slobodyan. Volodymyr, who has previously worked for Angela Hartnett in London, creates classic English dishes with a modern twist, along with innovative side dishes that both compliment each course and are perfect for sharing. The new autumn menu includes dishes such as pan-seared hake, crushed potatoes, samphire and mussels, lamb rump, black olive gnocci, aubergine, salsa verde and cauliflower steak, roasted cauliflower puree and parmesan foam. Desserts include blackberry panna cotta and sticky toffee pudding. Bookings for Christmas are now being taken with a Christmas Day tasting menu priced at £70 per head for a glass of mulled wine and crostini on arrival and eight delicious courses. The tasting menu will be served over two sittings, from 2pm and from 4.30pm. An à la carte menu will also be available for festive gatherings in the run up to Christmas with a maximum party size of 22. The team recommends early bookings for large parties to avoid disappointment and to advise of any special dietary requirements at the time of booking. A vegan tasting menu will also be served on Christmas Day with flavoursome meat and dairy-free treats as winter vegetable salad, glazed pumpkins served with buckwheat crisps and apple and pear tarte tartin.
