Hever Castle has teamed up with Squerryes vineyard to host a Celebration of Kentish Wines Dine & Stay – a chance to combine over 700 years of history with an opportunity to learn and taste wines from some of the world’s most exciting winemakers.
Guests can arrive in the afternoon of Thursday 3 October, settle into the Astor Wing and explore the Hever Castle estate. In the early evening, guests will gather in the Astor Wing’s elegant Music Room ahead of a private guided tour of the Castle, after which Squerryes will host a drinks reception in the Castle.
A six-course dinner will follow, each course paired with a wine from the Wine Garden of England: Chapel Down, Hush Heath, Simpsons, Gusbourne and Biddenden. After dinner, there will be an opportunity to purchase a mixed Kentish Wines case containing the wines from the evening and enjoy an evening bar or retire to bed.
The next morning, enjoy a sumptuous breakfast in the magnificent wood paneled Tudor Suite Dining Room before heading off to the nearby Squerryes Estate in Westerham for a tour of the vineyard and a tutored tasting ‘A Flight of Squerryes’. If the weather is favourable, there may also be an opportunity to assist with the harvesting of the grapes!
Tickets cost £250.00 per person based on two people sharing a Deluxe Room. Upgrades are available to a Feature Room at £20.00 per person or a Superior Room at £25.00 per person. There is one Suite, the Edward VII Suite available at £300 per person. Full Payment is requested at the time of booking and all bookings are non-refundable due to the popularity of this event.
