England’s leading wine producer, Chapel Down, has today announced a partnership as the ‘Official English Sparkling Wine’ of Tom Kerridge’s Pub in the Park – the largest food and music tour in the UK.
This summer will see a Chapel Down bar at all ten of the Pub in the Park festivals, serving their award-winning range of sparkling wines. Chapel Down will also be hosting live wine masterclasses throughout the events.
The festival forms part of the wine producer’s summer campaign, which sees its English sparkling wines served at a series of events and supported by a digital advertising campaign positioning the brand as ‘a fresher way to celebrate’.
Now in its 7th year, this is the first time that the popular Pub in the Park food and drink festival have had an English sparkling wine as a title sponsor. Created by leading British chef, Tom Kerridge, each festival is a celebration of the best of British food and drink. With ten events taking place across the South this summer, the roadshow runs from the 12th May to 10th September and will play host to more than 160,000 consumers enjoying live music from leading British bands and artists, and Michelin-starred food from some of the country’s finest restaurants.
As part of the English winemaker’s festival debut, guests will be able to enjoy dishes from leading British chefs paired with Chapel Down’s sparkling wines. Recommended pairings include Chapel Down Brut with The Hand and Flowers’ Smoked Salt Beef and Truffle Rarebit on Toast; Chapel Down Grand Reserve with Atul Kochhar Restaurants’ Keema Pao with Lamb Mince; and Chapel Down Rosé with Jose Pizarro’s Black Squid Ink and Prawn Croquetas.
Andrew Carter, Chapel Down CEO, said: “We are delighted to be partnering with Park in the Park and supporting their mission to bring the finest British food and drink to consumers this summer. We are dedicated to raising the profile of the exceptional quality of English sparkling wine and are looking forward to introducing hundreds of thousands of food lovers to Chapel Down this summer.”
Miranda Martin, Managing Director of Pub in the Park, added: “The festival is a celebration of the best British food, drink and music, and so we are thrilled to be partnering with Chapel Down to offer our guests the finest English sparkling wine. English wine is one of the hottest drinks categories and Chapel Down is at the forefront of the industry as the market leader. We are excited to be able to bring these award-winning wines to what is set to be our biggest and best festival yet!”
The partnership is the latest in a growing number of associations that Chapel Down have with leading British events. The brand is already showcased as the Official Sparkling Wine of England Cricket - with 2023 seeing The Ashes be played on home soil - as well as at the Oxford & Cambridge Boat Race and Ascot Racecourse.
