Cocktail In A Bottle launches 'Sea Mist Sour' in partnership with local artist to win an iconic print of Deal Pier

Recently he has joined forces with local artist Neil 'Ned' Kelly of notorious Don't Walk Walk Gallery in Deal to create a cocktail that celebrates the flavours of Deal's coastline!

The idea behind the drink is to evoke fond memories of Deal from visitors and local inhabitants alike who can enjoy the drink or send it as a gift. The drink will also be sold in local Deal drinking establishments such as The Tap House in South Street and bottles can be purchased exclusively on the High Street via Merchant of Relish, and Algar Lodge Farm Shop in Sholden.

The Sea Mist Sour is a blend of Single Estate Tequila Ocho which is infused with organic Nori seaweed to give umami notes and a responsibly foraged wild fennel and sea salt syrup which grows along the shores of Deal's coastline. We then add lime, which reacts with the seaweed to create a beautiful marine hue. The drink is then seasoned with Japanese Yuzu bitters for extra zest and brightness. It's a bit like a Margarita, but with flavours of the sea and the drink is made long by adding soda.

To make the drink you pour 50ml into a tall ice filled glass, add soda or Mediterranean tonic and a slice of lemon and you will then be transported to the sea!

Each bottle yields 10 drinks and retails for £35 (£3.50 per serve)

The label for the drink was an iconic image of Deal Pier sketched by Neil using a fine pen and was drawn in one continuous flow without lifting the pen from the canvas. The prints of the sketch have been extremely popular and Neil has agreed to give three prints away to anyone who buys a bottle from the Cocktail In A Bottle shop or from Merchant of Relish on Deal's High St. Winners will be picked out of a hat at the end of August!
