Corner House go for a Hat Trick

The Corner House Restaurant has once again reached the final of the Taste of Kent Restaurant of the Year Award. The Minster restaurant won the award in 2015 and 2017 and now it is the Canterbury restaurant in the final. Chef owner Matt Sworder is delighted with the news and is hoping that the team can make it a hat trick with a win for the second restaurant. “The restaurant scene in Kent just keeps on getting stronger and we’re once again up against some stiff competition. Regardless of the final outcome, it’s fantastic to have Canterbury in the running after less than two years of opening. It’s a huge pat on the back for our hardworking team who are taking the restaurant from strength to strength.” The Corner House Canterbury is up against The Buoy & Oyster in Margate, The Carriage Restaurant in Faversham and The Mulberry Tree in Boughton Monchelsea. 2018 is a is a big year for The Corner House with the Minster restaurant celebrating its five year anniversary and Canterbury celebrating two years in business this summer. The celebrations will begin this Easter with both restaurants introducing a special seasonal menu that showcases The Corner House classics as well as a few new Easter arrivals. The three course menu is priced at £35 per person and includes a complimentary cocktail. Diners can look forward to starters such as the ever popular sharing board and a salad of crispy lamb, broad beans and goat’s cheese, courgette and basil puree and mains of Romney Marsh lamb shoulder for two and herb crumb cod loin, peas, lettuce, bacon, Jersey Royal potatoes. To finish the meal there’s salted caramel tart with brown bread ice cream, lemon curd and raspberry Eton mess, caramelised white chocolate and toasted almonds and chilled rhubarb fumble, custard and toasted oats.
