NEW range of premium English still wines from family run vineyard Wayfarer Wines With more than 70% of English wine production destined for sparkling wines, English still wines can sometimes come as an afterthought. Most English wineries producing sparkling wines will use the first press of the grapes for their best sparkling wine, with the second press being used for their still wine production. Family run Wayfarer vineyard is making waves by pushing the boundaries of what English still wine can really achieve. Not only are their low acidity, high sugar, still wine specific vines chosen especially for still wine production, their premium first press and subsequent press are only ever destined for their finest English still wines. Wayfarer wines 2019 vintages are all single varietal- meaning what you see on the label is 100% what is in the bottle, and all the wines are single estate, so grapes grown on different sites are never mixed together. These decisions allow an astoundingly true expression of the estate, making each wine remarkably unique. Wayfarer wines prefer low intervention winemaking techniques to really let the fruit shine, and all the wines are vegan too! Available now in select local pubs and restaurants, and directly from the vineyard online, Wayfarer Wines have three different varieties in their debut vintage: Pilgrims Way Pinot Noir Rosé 2019 A very pretty, soft peach-pink in colour. This elegant wine boasts cherry blossom on the nose, a ripe summer strawberry bite on the palate followed with cleansing zingy grapefruit freshness. Bright with bursting acidity, and well balanced. Paired fantastically with summer BBQ; grilled lamb with rosemary; fresh British strawberries Pilgrims Way Pinot Gris 2019 A versatile white, exceptionally delicate, made in a similar style to Pinot Gris from Alsace with gorgeous mellow acidity, and light fruity aromatics. Ripe conference pear on the nose, citrus lime, and crisp green apple on the palate. This is a real showstopper and unlike any other English Pinot Gris on the market. Paired gorgeously with herby pea risotto; seared salmon fillet; scallops and black pudding Wandering Wayfarer Bacchus 2019 Aromas of delicate elderflower blossom on the nose. Fresh cut grass on the palate and soft mineral undertones. A clean and crisp wine showing fresh white peach fruit characters. Aromatic, structured, and delicate, this wine really showcases the fantastic complexity of the Bacchus grape. Paired beautifully with aromatic Thai green curry; goat cheese salad; salmon with seared asparagus. The brand NEW range of Wayfarer Wines is available now online at www.wayfarerwines.com, and from select stockists across the UK* (12% ABV, RRP £20.90).
