The Dog House leads the way with hygiene standards

Recently the winner of a Trip Advisor’s ‘Traveller’s Choice Award’, The Dog House is a unique micropub with a relaxed atmosphere run by Claire & Duncan in Evegate near Ashford. They are passionate in their approach, using local breweries and distilleries as well as the local butcher, baker and cake maker to ensure quality is at the heart of everything they serve. That quality approach extends to hygiene standards too. At a time of unprecedented challenge due to Covid, Claire has been working closely with local company Complete Covid Limited to ensure that hygiene standards are class leading. The company visit The Dog House regularly to ensure that the premises are treated with a state of the art Ultra Violet-C system, in combination with an Ozone treatment, killing 99.9% of dangerous microorganisms including germs and pathogens, which include the COVID-19 coronavirus. The machine uses inbuilt sensors to analyse and map their surroundings before each disinfection cycle begins and offers the benefit of no down time. Claire found the whole experience impressive, “I liked the fact that there was no residue or chemicals used, so I had no worries in regards to the safety of our stock or furnishings. The door signage also gives confidence to our customers that we take the Covid threat seriously and go beyond their expectations in delivering a safe space environment for them to enjoy”. Despite challenges, The Dog House continues to offer great live music, whilst observing social distancing restrictions, as well as having its own in-house record player & lots of impressive vinyl to sit back and enjoy.
