Exciting release of Simpsons’ new wines

The Simpsons’ Wine Estate vineyards, situated on the sunny, sheltered slopes of the North Downs of Kent and firmly anchored in iconic chalk soils, are proving to be exceptional sites, encouraging the release of an exciting range of estate grown wines that will challenge the perception of English still wine. In addition, the 2018 English vintage was heralded as being close to perfect with excellent growing conditions that resulted in a bountiful harvest of the highest quality. Therefore, we have the greatest delight in announcing the availability now of three stunning still wines from the 2018 vintage: - Gravel Castle Chardonnay 2018 Derringstone Pinot Meunier 2018 (Blanc de Noirs) Railway Hill Rose 2018

Gravel Castle Chardonnay 2018

Created from exclusively estate grown grapes, the Gravel Castle Chardonnay is a fresh, fruit driven and unoaked Chardonnay, created from Burgundian still wine clones. Tasting notes: The Gravel Castle Chardonnay is pale gold in colour with citrus and nashi pear aromas. Refreshing tropical fruit flavours are complemented by a smooth, textured palate.

Derringstone Pinot Meunier 2018 (Blanc de Noirs)

Created from exclusively estate grown and hand-picked Pinot Meunier grapes, this intriguing and truly unique ‘blanc de noirs’ was carefully vinified as a white wine. Tasting notes: The Derringstone Pinot Meunier displays chalk purity and sweet and savoury aromas of poached winter fruit. Complex balsamic nuances and red fruit flavours finish with a deliciously creamy mouth-feel.

Railway Hill Rosé 2018

This beautiful, Provencal-style English rosé is created from 100% estate-grown Pinot Noir. Its delicate aromas and attractive colour capture the essence of summer. Tasting notes: The Railway Hill rosé has fresh aromas of grapefruit, lime and lychee and displays clean stone fruits flavours balanced by a crisp mouth-watering finish.
