7th November 2022
In early November 2022, Floortje and Susie were invited to join the group of influential leaders in the county: The Kent Ambassadors, with Susie also named as Deputy Lieutenant of Kent.
The Kent Ambassadors are a grouping of highly successful and experienced people who either live or work in Kent and who have come together, by invitation, in a voluntary arrangement to help all aspects of life in Kent. Currently there are around 90 people involved. Ambassadors regularly visit a diverse range of enterprises in Kent with a view of offering help, support, guidance and publicity.
Floortje, who joined Produced in Kent as their CEO in January 2020 said:
"Whether you’re a resident, visitor, student or business, Kent has so much to offer and I am proud to call it my home away from home. I feel honoured to have been appointed Kent Ambassador and will work hard to promote our Garden of England, and its thriving food and drink sector in particular, across the UK and beyond."
Susie, who is chair of the board of Produced in Kent, as well as Executive Chair at Locate in Kent said:
“Kent has so many exciting projects at the moment from Newtown Works and the new Brompton factory in Ashford, to plans around the port at Dover and developments for the Thames Estuary and Medway as well as the continuing rejuvenation of Ramsgate and Margate. I am really proud to be an ambassador and tell everyone I meet why they should celebrate living, working and spending their leisure time in our fabulous county.”
Produced in Kent (PINK), the trade membership organisation for Kent’s food and drink producers works closely with Visit Kent, the county’s Destination Management Organisation (DMO) for the county of Kent.
Deirdra Wells OBE, the CEO of Visit Kent became a Kent Ambassador at the same time.
