Acclaimed food hall, Macknade Fine Foods, is joining forces with Inspire Schools to provide a day of free foodie fun for primary school children on August 20th, in a bid to uncover the region’s best young kitchen talent.
Activities will run between 10am & 3pm on their outside Deck in Faversham, with topics including everything from healthy eating to food waste; and there will be plenty of opportunities for kids to get hands on – tasting & cooking a variety of different foods from Kent & beyond.
The day will be jam-packed with fun, learning opportunities, hosted by Macknade’s expert cheesemongers, greengrocers & butchers; as well as local partners including Wasted Kitchen, MightyFineThings & Reading Fairy.
Activities include pizza making, sensory storytelling, pickling, cheese tasting & so much more!
The full programme of activities will be released in the coming weeks, so please keep an eye on Macknade’s social media channels for further details. All activities are free of charge; however, there will be limited spaces for some of the activities and these need to be booked in advance via macknade.com
Macknade and Inspire Schools hope the event will inspire participants to get creative in the kitchen and enter Masterchef-style kitchen contest Young Cooks.
