Winterdale Cheesemakers is delighted to have been selected to supply their Winterdale cheese to this year’s Wimbledon Championships..
The championships take place between the 27th June and the 10th July and the cheese will feature in the restaurants on a cheeseboard, in the picnic hampers and also as part of the Wimbledon at Home picnics. This comes straight after the cheese was used last week in the Royal Ascot picnics .
Winterdale is a family dairy farm in Fairseat near Wrotham, producing cheese and milk. They The UK’s first carbon neutrally made cheese uses milk from their own Friesian herd, and is taken straight to the dairy after milking, retaining the natural heat for cheese production. The traditional , unpasteurised cloth bound cheese is matured in their own chalk cellar creating a depth of flavour perfect for a picnic.
“it’s a great honour to have our cheese served to all the fans at Wimbeldon and for the hard work we out into making a great quality product” says Robin Betts who leads the family business “We are proud that the whole process s carbon neutral, including the delivery in our electric van”
Kent features strongly at Wimbledon, with guests also able to enjoy Malling Centenary strawberries from Hugh Lowe Farms in Mereworth, who have supplied the Championships for many years with top quality Kent soft fruit.
If you aren’t lucky enough to be attending the event you can order a picnic from the Wimbledon at Home range to enjoy while you watch at home. https://www.wimbledon.com/en_G...
Alternatively you can get a taste of Winterdale direct from their own farm shop, or at selected retailers and restaurants across Kent.
