Responsible To: Managing Director

Summary of post: To be responsible for all aspects of production and operations at Karimix

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. To provide leadership and guidance for all site production and operations

2. To provide energetic and inspiring leadership for all site staff

3. To be responsible for implementing lean manufacturing principles, continuous improvements and ensuring best practice across all teams on site.

4. To negotiate and renew raw and packaging materials on cost and usage annually

5. To identify and streamline procedures to create robust costing and pricing models to ensure value for money and budgeted GP is achieved

6. To manage and control building and management systems to ensure optimal conditions for growth

7. To manage and promote good manufacturing practices to ensure compliance with all food safety traceability, hygiene, safety working with QC and technical consultant to BRCGS QM

8. To be responsible for the delivery of the marketing plan to increase sales to agreed targets

9. To lead in and ensure the Karimix vision, ethos and values are at the heart of the customer experience at every point within the business

10. To ensure the optimal staffing structures are in place to deliver a high-quality customer experience whilst maintaining an efficient cost base

11. To participate in our staff support and development scheme and to undertake training based on individual and operational needs

12. To comply with legislative requirements and company policies and guidelines in respect to health & safety and data protection

13. To demonstrate positive personal and professional behaviour as specified in the Staff Code of Conduct

14. To undertake any other duties as reasonably requested.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

General Manager

Skills and ability

• Outstanding ability to lead a large team to deliver outstanding customer service at every touchpoint

• Highly effective organisational skills with the ability to successfully develop a positive and inclusive culture.

• A clear passion to build on the Karimix reputation for offering high quality, value for money and an outstanding experience.

• Previous experience of applying Lean / Six Sigma techniques within a manufacturing environment, preferably food.

• A minimum of three years in a management role with a responsibility for delivering results in a commercial context

• Successful track record in running dynamic and fast paced businesses

• Detailed knowledge of high quality food and drink

• Educated to degree level or equivalent

• Evidence of continuing education and training
