The good news from Tenterden Folk Festival is that we have now re-started our LIVE folk song and dance workshops with a group of 6 to 7 year old children at Wyvern School in Ashford.
Seeing these special needs youngsters getting excited about singing, dancing, chanting, signing and enjoying themselves with our workshop leaders is a first big step to getting the local folk scene re-opened after the pandemic. This is one of the many special events and activities run by the Trust alongside the actual Festival.
Others are the free monthly folk song and music sessions at the William Caxton in Tenterden, publishing the bi-monthly Around Kent Folk magazine, occasional folk events mainly in Tenterden and Ashford and acting as a local folk development organisation.
We hope to re-start more activities from soon and are still busy working on plans for a Covid Safe Tenterden Folk Festival 2021 from Thursday 30th September to Sunday 3rd October.
