Haynes kicks off celebrations at first ever Farm Expo

Adrian Woods - Operations Manager, Haynes[/caption] KENT’s oldest farm machinery supplier will be kicking off its centenary celebrations at Farm Expo on March 6th. To mark its 100th anniversary, Haynes Agricultural will be unveiling a special edition tractor at the event. The company sold its first tractor – a Fordson Model F – in August 1919 to a local farmer. Fast forward 100 years and the business now has four depots in Wrotham, Great Chart, Uckfield and Birchington, providing sales, parts and servicing to farmers across Kent and East Sussex. Adrian Woods, Operations Director of Haynes Agricultural, said: “It’s amazing to think we’re in our centenary year. We’re determined to make it a good one. “We’ve already got lots of things planned, kicking off at Farm Expo when we unveil the special edition tractor. “We’re really looking forward to seeing the reaction of the crowds and we hope lots of friends, old and new, will come and visit us at our stand and check out all the machinery and equipment we’ll be exhibiting. “We’re looking forward to a really enjoyable day.” Haynes Agriculture will be joined by a host of other big-named machinery suppliers and associated businesses from across Kent and the South East at Farm Expo, as well as top-flight speakers Nick von Westenholz, Clive Bailye, and Stephen Carr. The event, which takes place on March 6th at the Kent Showground, has been organised by the Kent County Agricultural Society and aims to become the biggest farm machinery, supplies, and services event in the South East. James Forknall, Chairman of the Kent County Agricultural Society, said he was delighted Haynes Agricultural was choosing Farm Expo to launch its celebrations. He said: “Anyone connected with farming in Kent knows Haynes; they’re a part of the fabric of the county. It’s not lost on us that they are kicking off their 100-year celebrations in the very first year first Farm Expo will take place. I hope that’s a good omen and some of that longevity rubs off on the show.” Mr Forknall added he was looking forward to a fantastic day. “It’s taken a lot of work to get to this stage, but we’re almost there,” he said. “We’ve got some fantastic speakers who will be tackling the thorny topics of Brexit and the Agriculture Bill, and a huge range of local suppliers and businesses supporting the event. “With so much going on, this will be a great opportunity to see the latest developments and updates in the industry.” For more information about Farm Expo go to https://kentshowground.co.uk/farmexpo/.
