Insights, Advice & Connections: Highlights from PinK’s Finance & Funding Event

On May 13, 2025, Produced in Kent hosted an exclusive members-only event at Macknade, Faversham

The event brought together some of the sharpest minds in business finance for a power-packed morning of advice, insight tailored for Kent’s food, drink, and craft entrepreneurs.

Attendees got face-to-face access with an all-star expert panel:

  • Susie Warran-Smith CBE DL – Founder of Breakthrough Funding and former Executive Director at EY, Susie gave an eye-opening overview of the current funding landscape and how SMEs can tap into it.
  • Iain Hawthorn, Aravis – With four decades of business finance expertise under his belt, Iain shared practical strategies for securing growth funding and managing liquidity, with a special focus on food, drink, agriculture, and horticulture.
  • Andrew Pledger, Barclays Eagle Labs – Andrew lifted the lid on the innovative resources and business support available through Eagle Labs, helping ambitious founders take their ideas further.

The event featured a lively expert discussion, a no-holds-barred Q&A session, and plenty of time for networking with fellow Kent business owners – because sometimes the best tips come over coffee – not forgetting the delicious Gilda pastries.

This is just one of the benefits of a Produced in Kent membership: exclusive access to experts, buyers, branding pros, and business support to help you learn, grow, and sell more.
