Job vacancy – Part-time bookkeeper Brogdale Farm An opportunity has arisen to support Brogdale Collections, the charity that provides access to and education about the National Fruit Collection. Responsibilities include keeping financial records updated, preparing reports and reconciling bank statements. You will also run accounting software programs (e.g. SAGE and Excel) to process business transactions, like accounts payable and receivable, event cash control, expense vouchers and receipts. Ultimately, you will ensure that the charity’s daily accounting functions run accurately, effectively and fully compliant with current legislation. With a minimum of 2 years book keeping experience you will have a sound knowledge of different accounting systems. A good understanding and experience of the government Gateway system for preparing VAT, payroll RTI & FPS essential. Certified training in accounting and insurance required. Brogdale Collections work as a charity to help the public access the National Fruit Collection by working to provide guided orchard tours, special education days aimed at Key stage 1 & 2 school groups, our new educational weather station and special event days. We want to share the knowledge, value and work of the National Fruit Collection and its research by DEFRA with the public both young and old so that we will have a sustainable fruit filled future for everyone.We are now seeking to strengthen our Trustee board in particular for people with an interest in finance, commercial activity fundraising and education.
