Kent Crisps Ham Mustard

1st February 2018

Kent Crisps launches new flavour

Kent Crisps is excited to be adding Ham and Mustard flavour to its current range of crisps. Kent Crisps who are well known for producing quality products and promoting the county in the UK and abroad has added a seventh flavour to its range. The new flavour, Ham and Mustard is being launched on Saturday 10th February at Pork & Co, 25-27 Sun St, Canterbury CT1 2HX. The launch location ties in perfectly with the stunning image of the iconic Canterbury Cathedral on the packet which reflects Kent Crisps ethos to drive tourism and promote the county of Kent. Laura Bounds, who took over as Owner and Managing Director in April last year, went to the experts when it came to deciding on the perfect blend to get the flavour spot on. She worked alongside Sam Deeson, owner of Pork & Co a restaurant serving homemade dishes made from their Pork which is free range and rare breed. Sam Deeson, Owner of Pork & co said: “As a pork enthusiast it was an exciting opportunity to work with Laura and her team on developing this new flavour to add to the Kent Crisps range. We are confident that the extensive process we’ve gone through will be a hit with crisp lovers everywhere!” Current flavours include Sea Salt and Vinegar with Biddenden Cider, Roast Beef and Spitfire Ale (with the ale from the Shepherd Neame brewery) and Ashmore Cheese & Onion, with the cheese being produced by the Cheesemakers of Canterbury. Laura is convinced the public will love this new taste as much as the other great flavours available. Laura Bounds, Owner and Managing Director of Kent Crisp and Kentish Oils said: "We’ve been listening to our consumers and our research has shown us that whilst other producers are coming up with weird and wonderful flavours, our customers enjoy a more traditional flavour. This has resulted in an exciting journey developing our Ham & Mustard flavour the perfect new addition to the Kent Crisps family. I am so grateful to have had the help of Sam who is a real connoisseur when it comes to Pork. We are now looking forward to launching our Ham and Mustard flavour which is likely to be our next best seller!” The new flavour which is gluten and dairy free will be available from February in Southern Coop stores across Kent, Surrey, Sussex and Hampshire, selected Waitrose and independent, pubs, farm shops and delis across the UK. To celebrate the launch, Visit Kent will be running a competition starting on Monday 22 January. One lucky winner will win a Canterbury hamper, including Kent Crisps, with an overnight stay, entry to Canterbury Cathedral along with a variety of vouchers from independent shops in Canterbury. Full details will be on visitkent.co.uk soon. kentcrisps.com
