Produced in Kent joined members and producers to champion the county's food and drink sector at a special event in Westminster.
Produced in Kent was delighted to attend the Taste of Kent and Medway event at the Houses of Parliament, celebrating the very best of what the county has to offer alongside some of our valued members.
The event was organised by Lauren Edwards MP, and our sincere thanks go to her and her team for bringing together such an impressive gathering of Kent producers. The range of businesses represented spoke volumes about the strength and diversity of our sector. From The Wooden Spoon Preserving Company, marking an extraordinary 50 years in business, to Orisons, a new bakery venture backed by a Kent and Medway Business Fund loan, the breadth of experience and ambition on show was genuinely inspiring. It was a brilliant example of what collaborative working can achieve - and the very real value it creates for our local economy.
Food and drink plays a vital role in everyday life, contributing significantly to both our economy and our communities. The event provided a fantastic opportunity to speak with MPs, members of the House of Lords, and parliamentary staff about that contribution on a national level - and, of course, to champion everything that makes Kent such a special place to grow, make, and produce.
We're enormously grateful to all the producers who gave their time and brought their products to Westminster. Moments like this matter - and they are always better when Kent's food and drink community shows up together.
