Little Ships scoops LUXlife Magazine Award

Ramsgate’s Little Ships Restaurant & Café has been named Best Breakfast Venue at the LUXlife Magazine 2019 Restaurant & Bar Awards. Since its launch in July 2018 as an annexe to the Royal Harbour Hotel, Little Ships has become a popular gourmet breakfast venue, remaining open all day, 7 days a week, from 9:30am (!0:30pm on Mondays). Its brunch menu, which is served until 12:00 noon, includes crushed avocado, natural yoghurt laced with fruit and honey, pastries, toasted sourdough muffins, as well as full – and light – English breakfast, with vegetarian and vegan options LUXlife awards coordinator, Edward Faulkner, commented: “We showcase the individuals and enterprises who offer outstanding gastronomic delicacies. The awards acknowledge the best establishments offering sumptuous cuisine from across the globe.” Entries included those from artisan kitchens, innovative street cuisine operators, gourmet restaurants and quaint cafes. Little Ships, owes its inspiration to the flotilla of small boats which sailed from Ramsgate during WW2, as part of ‘Operation Dynamo, to rescue the thousands of British and Allied troops stranded on the beach at Dunkirk. Receiving the prestigious award, restaurateur James Thomas said: “It’s a great honour to receive this accolade, which is testament to the skills and dedication of our chef Craig Mather and his team – showcasing the very best, fresh, local produce sourced from local farms and fishing boats.” Published quarterly, LUXlife informs readers on all aspects of high end lifestyle, including the finest, food and drink, hotels and resorts, health and beauty, automotive, jewellery, art and technology from around the world.
