Independent food hall Macknade is set to celebrate the arrival of spring with a diverse programme of events throughout March. From community dog walks to vibrant cultural evenings, curated wine tastings and foodie-fuelled competitions, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
Friday 13th March | From 6:30pm
Macknade hosts an early St Patrick’s Day celebration with an evening of lively Celtic dancing led by Thistle & Thorn. Guests can expect energetic, easy-to-learn dances taught by caller Stefan Kelk, accompanied by live traditional music. A hearty two-course dinner and an exclusive whiskey-based welcome drink complete the experience.

Saturday 14th March | 6:30pm - 10:30pm
Macknade welcomes the Wine Garden of England for an evening celebrating Kent’s world-class wine producers. Guests will enjoy a guided tasting of wines from five Kentish vineyards; Domaine Evremond, Squerryes, Chapel Down, Yotes Court and Simpsons. Wines are expertly paired with a five-course Kentish tasting menu created by Macknade’s Head Chef, Karolina Patra.
Wine Garden of England is a collective of nine leading vineyards in Kent, united to promote the region as the heart of English wine. Championing award-winning still and sparkling wines, the group offers curated vineyard experiences, tastings and seasonal events that showcase Kent’s unique terroir and reputation as the Garden of England.

Sunday 15th March | Meet at 10:00am | Walk begins at 10:15am
Macknade invites dog owners to a Mother’s Day dog walk through the Faversham countryside. This ~45-minute (3k) route offers the perfect opportunity to enjoy fresh air, gentle exercise and time with loved ones two-legged and four-legged alike.
The walk begins and ends at Macknade’s dog-friendly Wine Store, where every dog will be treated to a complimentary puppuccino. Guests can also enjoy a special coffee & cake offer on their return.
Tickets: Booking required, donations are invited on the day, with all proceeds supporting local charity Dandelion Time.
Friday 20th March | 6:30pm - 8:30pm
Macknade launches their new Iberian Wine Tasting Series exploring wines from Iberian producers, beginning with the dynamic region of Catalonia. The guided tasting will showcase Cava alongside a selection of Catalonia’s leading non-sparkling wines, including examples from Priorat, home to some of Spain’s most celebrated reds.
Guests will also enjoy a selection of deli-prepared nibbles. Additional glasses and bottles will be available to purchase for enjoyment in-store or to take home.

Saturday 21st March | 6:30pm - 9:30pm
The Big Foodie Quiz returns to Macknade, inviting guests to gather teams of 4-8 and test their culinary knowledge in support of Dandelion Time. Expect a lively evening of food-themed questions, delicious deli nibbles and a bar stocked with locally sourced drinks.
Dandelion Time is a charity offering early support to children who have experienced trauma, including domestic abuse and neglect. Their craft and nature-based approach helps children build confidence, resilience and long-term emotional wellbeing.
Tickets: £17.50 per person with £5 from every ticket donated to Dandelion Time.
