New Margate Stockist for Bakers Bicycle

Two local businesses have joined forces to bring a range of fabulous artisan breads to local gourmets with the Mayor of Margate, Cllr Rosamund Dixon coming along to celebrate the partnership. The Kentish Pantry is delighted to announce that they are set to become the first stockists of Baker’s Bicycle in Margate. The Kentish Pantry specialises in offering fine foods produced in the Garden of England and is based in Duke Street in Margate Old Town. Owners, Rhys Huelin and Jason Freedman, said: ‘We are really pleased to offer Baker’s Bicycle breads and sweet bakes to our discerning customers. Our gourmands take time to source great bread and we are offering a wonderful range from Sourdough and Onion Rolls to Sundried Tomato and Basil Focaccia Loaves plus, the famous and unique, Margate Scioche®.” Simon Cannell, Managing Director of Baker’s Bicycle added, “We are really pleased to be working with The Kentish Pantry. Rhys and Jason have selected a wonderful range of foods from artisan producers throughout Kent and we know our breads will perfectly complement the cheeses, charcuterie and other treats on offer.” Simon went on to make a special mention of sweet bakes from Baker’s Bicycle. “We have created a wonderful addition to afternoon tea, the Scioche®. Our master bakers have combined the best of scone with the best of brioche to create a hybrid of buttery lightness and loveliness. Once you have tasted Original Scioche®, do try Lemon and Poppyseed Scioche® served with lashings of lemon curd and clotted cream.” Mayor of Margate, Cllr Rosamund Dixon said, “I am delighted to be here to support two important local businesses. Baker’s Bicycle brought pride to Margate in 2012 when they won the contract to supply the Olympic Village with their range of handmade Red Tractor accredited breads. Also, the opening of The Kentish Pantry with its range of fine foods and café is bringing additional vibrancy to this lovely historic corner of Margate.” The Kentish Pantry www.thekentishpantry.co.uk 01843 233150 Baker’s Bicycle www.bakersbicycle.co.uk 01843 209442
