Gabe Cook, aka The Ciderologist, gave Nightingale Cider’s Fledgling No.3 cider a five-star rating in The Observer Food Monthly recently, saying:
“Like grapefruit stuck up each nostril - in the best way. Intense, singly, tropical fruit overload. A natural sparkle. Bone dry. Super refreshing. If you’re into natural wine, or anything intensely acid-driven, it’s fun.”
Fledgling No.3 is a single variety Discovery apple cider form the 2021 vintage. This cider has aromas of strawberries, roses and lychees with red fruit on the palate and balanced acidity. Fledgling No.3 cider is the third in the Fledgling series showcasing ciders made using the ancestral, or pét-nat (pétillant natural) method. This involves bottling before the end of primary fermentation, allowing the process to complete in the bottle itself.
