Food lovers and producers turn out at launch of The Corner House Cookbook
Matt Sworder, chef owner of The Corner House restaurants in Kent, was delighted to share his first ever cookbook with guests, family, friends and producers this month.
The launch activity kicked off at Harbour Books in Whitstable on Saturday 11 May where Matt offered The Corner House’s much-loved pork scratchings and sausage rolls to those browsing and sold copies of the signed books.
The Whitstable launch was followed by a celebratory reception at The Corner House in Min-ster on Wednesday 15 May. Guests enjoyed drinks and nibbles and had plenty of opportunity to chat with Matt about the book. Wines were sponsored by Page & Sons, the longstanding Kentish wine merchants featured in the book.
Matt comments: “The Corner House Cookbook has been a huge undertaking that involved our fantastic team, family, friends and suppliers. As with any big project I felt both relieved and proud to have the final book in my hands. It has been really special to be able to share our hard work with guests and friends of both our restaurants. It’s a very exiting time for every-one involved who has helped make The Corner House a success and an opportunity to show-case the fantastic produce we have here in Kent.
Simplicity is key in the The Corner House Cookbook. The book includes more than 40 reci-pes, carefully selected by Matt and his team to represent the most popular dishes from the past five years. The dishes are graded easy, medium and difficult, from a simple cauliflower soup to a slightly more challenging pea panna cotta with crab and apple.
The book also celebrates the fantastic produce available in and around Kent and profiles of the restaurants’ key suppliers feature in the book.
The Corner House Cookbook is available to purchase from a range of stockists including both of The Corner House restaurants. Priced at just £20, The Corner House Cookbook is an ideal gift for keen cooks and food lovers.
