Rural Courses at Brogdale Farm

Home of the National Fruit Collection Learn a new skill this spring Brogdale Farm, home of the National Fruit Collection are offering a great variety of rural courses run by some notable experts in their field. Short and 1 day courses are available through Brogdale Collections that will enthuse and inspire you to learn a new skill. Courses are suitable for beginners and seasoned crafters alike. With a wealth of resources on a 150 acre farm we can offer hands on experience in the idyllic environment of a Kentish farm, with lunch and refreshments included. From Cider Making, using fruit from the National Fruit Collection to willow weaving with locally grown willow you will learn from some of the most experienced instructors, passionate about their craft. June is a great month to come along to try something new. There is availability on the following dates: 7th June – Keeping Chickens The one day course covers practical chicken care including, choosing the correct type of hen for you, catching and holding the hens, inspecting, washing, wing clipping and egg laying. 9th June – Orchard Design This one-day course is for anyone thinking of establishing an orchard or becoming involved in a community orchard project and includes a tour of part of the National Fruit Collections. 14th June – Elderflower Cordial Making This half day course will take you through the basic steps and process of making delicious elderflower cordial at home. Gather bundles of creamy white elderflowers and transform them into sublimely refreshing elderflower cordial.
