Seasonal Cheer from National Champion: Simpsons’ Wine Estate
This year there have been many reasons for local producer, Simpsons’ Wine Estate, to raise a glass.
2022 heralded the Estate’s 10th anniversary celebrations, the team also established a third vineyard site to meet the growing demand for the Simpsons’ wines, they achieved WineGB’s Sustainability Certification and safely gathered in another impressive harvest, with record volumes to date.
To add to this already significant year, the Simpsons’ premium sparkling wine, Flint Fields Blanc de Noirs 2018, was awarded “Best in Class, English Blanc de Noirs” and the supreme accolade of “National Champion, Best English Sparkling Wine” in the Champagne and Sparkling Wine World Championships 2022.
The awards dinner was held in London on the evening of Thursday 3 November 2022, where Co-Founders, Ruth and Charles Simpson, were joined by Head Winemaker, Leigh Sparrow, and Estate Manager, Darryl Kemp, to receive their esteemed trophy. This competition is renowned in the industry for being the most respected, comprehensive and rigorous for judging sparkling wines at an international level.
The award could not have come at a better time, as the Simpsons’ sparkling wines are perfect to toast your festive celebrations. All four locally produced fizzes in the Estate’s range are now available to buy by the single bottle. Plus, there is plenty of seasonal gifting inspiration to peruse on the Simpsons’ website, including mixed cases, magnums, hampers and gift vouchers. All purchases are eligible to enter the Produced in Kent Christmas Kindness competition too!
Moreover, Simpsons’ Wine Estate will be offering complimentary shipping over the Black Friday weekend for cases of six bottles or more. During this period, the team will be donating 5% of their sales revenue to Pilgrim’s Hospice as part of the Elham Christmas Market campaign. The team at Simpsons’ are very keen to support their chosen local charities and the Estate’s recent Winter Open House, held on 12 November 2022, was a huge success with a wonderful £831.73 raised for Demelza Hospice Care for Children.
