Shepherd Neame Donates £4,000 To NHS Heroes

Shepherd Neame is donating £4,000 to the Kent NHS Community Heroes charity to celebrate the successful reopening of its online shop. Britain’s oldest brewer, based in Faversham, closed its brewery shop, along with its pubs and hotels, on March 20 in line with Government advice. Its online shop also temporarily closed during this time but reopened on April 27 selling a limited range of beers, wines and ciders. To mark the occasion, Shepherd Neame pledged to make a £1 donation to the Kent NHS Community Heroes charity for every case of beer, wine or cider ordered online until the end of June. Chief Executive Jonathan Neame said: “When we reopened our online shop back in April, it was important to us to do something to show our NHS workers just how much we appreciate their selfless, dedicated efforts to keep us safe at such a difficult time. We are delighted to provide this donation to such a fantastic cause.” Jo Treharne, Head of Engagement and Campaigns for Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust, said: “We would like to thank Shepherd Neame for this generous donation. Our community NHS teams are facing the biggest challenge in a generation, and these funds will help us to support their health and wellbeing.” For more information about the Kent NHS Community Heroes charity or to make a donation visit www.justgiving.com/campaign/NHScommunityheroes
