Target Audience The NEBOSH National General Certificate gives a good foundation in health and safety for managers, supervisors and staff with health and safety among their day to day responsibilities. This qualification is widely taken as a first step towards a career in health and safety and is accepted by the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) in meeting the academic requirements for Technician Membership of IOSH (Tech IOSH). The NEBOSH National General Certificate covers the main legal requirements for health and safety in the UK, identification and control of workplace hazards and the practical application of this knowledge. The syllabus is mapped to the National Occupational Standards for Health and Safety owned by ENTO. No previous health and safety knowledge is required but candidates should note that the assessment includes a requirement to write a short report. Who is the qualification for? Duration This is a twelve day programme, scheduled over 12 weeks for one day a week in Maidstone; with exams following 1-2 weeks after course completion. The next course starts on Thursday 12^th September 2019. Assessment The qualification is divided into three units, each of which is assessed separately:

• Management of Health and Safety (NGC1) (2hr written exam included)
• Controlling workplace hazards (NGC2) (2hr written exam included)
• Health and Safety practical application (NGC3) (2hr practical assessment included)
