Tenterden Folk Festival Procession gets approval!

Our good news is that after some detailed negotiations with KCC Highways we have now got agreement to the normal road closure to facilitate the Tenterden Folk Festival procession at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday 2^nd October.

This means that all the available Morris sides, folk dance display teams, street entertainers, etc. can gather on the greens near the War Memorial and process along the High Street to Recreation Ground Road and on to the Recreation Ground right by the crafts and stalls marquee, bar and free music stage.

The procession normally takes about 45 minutes and the road will be reopened as soon as the procession has passed. So far we have just over 30 sides signed up for the weekend so we are hoping that none of them get the dreaded ping from the NHS Covid App and have to miss the festival.
