Treat your mum before Mothers Day!

You really, really love your mother right? So why would you make her wait until Mothering Sunday for her annual treat? Why not give her a special day out by bringing her to Spadework on Saturday March 10th when our charity hosts the first Offham Farmers’ Market of 2018? The stalls and Farm Shop will be laden with great Kentish gifts that your mother would love, including, artwork, soft furnishings, handicrafts, fudge, chocolate, craft gin, liqueurs and beers. Oh, and there’s no excuse not to treat her to lunch! The Cafe will be serving their excellent freshly cooked dishes, made with local and ethically sourced ingredients and Precious Porkers will be cooking their own sausages, bacon and burgers on the barbecue. You’ll also find lots of great ingredients such as cheeses, fresh outdoor reared pork and home grown and local fruit and vegetables and even locally roasted coffee at the market -- just in case you decide to give your mum two treats and cook Sunday lunch for her as well. Maybe she’s a keen gardener? If so, there’ll be plenty on offer at our Garden Centre to kick-start the 2018 season, including a new range of gifts such as tools, lighting, garden ornaments and beautiful pots. There will be no shortage of plants either and early March is a great time to plant potatoes, rhubarb, onions, summer flowering bulbs, tree lilies and starter perennials. Spadework is a charity providing life skills and work-based training for ninety adults with learning and other disabilities. Their Trainees are involved in all aspects of Spadework’s Garden Centre, Cafe and Farm Shop: growing flowers, plants, fruit and vegetables, preparing and serving meals, operating the tills and delivering and stacking logs. Spadework’s Garden Centre, Cafe and Farm Shop are open seven days a week. Teston Road, Offham, Kent. ME19 5NA 01732 870002 www.spadework.net Charity no. 291198
