With the busy summer season approaching, we have a number of vacancies available within our wedding venue, restaurant, accommodation and Kitchen Garden. Front of House Manager | 4-day week including 1 weekend day off

We are seeking an experienced Front of House Manager to join our team; you will be fully responsible for the department in this hands-on role. If you do not have managerial experience, full training programmes are available for the right candidate.

You will lead your team by example, motivating and inspire your team to deliver the highest possible levels of service & standards whilst being personable and engaging.

Your main goal will be to support the team to deliver excellent service, doing whatever it takes to do so, be it a wedding day, dinner service or a wake.

As Front of House Manager, you will identify all opportunities to maximise sales whilst enhancing the guest experience and ensure the team do the same. You will be incredibly organised and encourage strong working relationships between all departments.

Working Hours – We appreciate you having quality family time and a life outside of work and we will do our best to support this, and therefore we offer you...

  • 4 Day working week
  • Only 1 weekend shift required per week.
  • 40 hours per week.
  • 5 days off over Christmas including Christmas and boxing day
  • 22.5 days annual leave.

Chef De Partie | 4-day week including 1 weekend day off

Your passion vs "having a life" shouldn't be a compromise you need to make. Join our team and get the work life balance you have looking for, with a four-day working week, including one weekend day off a week, and two days off together.

With 2 kitchens and onsite butchery, we offer award-winning dining and host over 100 weddings a year, with onsite accommodation for 75+ (please note that this position is for our restaurant team - weddings are catered by our separate banqueting chef team.)

With out expansive Kitchen Garden, family-owned Farm, private Game Estate, and extensive local suppliers, we aim to champion homegrown Kentish produce.

We have a CDP position available in our team - you should be ready to work at 1 AA Rosette level, or have solid experience at a comparable/relevant level.

You must have previous experience - this is not an entry level or newcomer role.

Working Conditions

We are a family run business, and we like to treat our team as family. We are an honest group of people, who work hard together and achieve great things year on year, we are a growing business so there is always something new we are doing or aiming for each year.

  • Minimum 5 days off from Xmas Eve every year
  • Full-time chefs work set days, 4 days per week (46 Hours) – 3 days off including one weekend day per week (we can consider part-time opportunities also)
  • 1 service kitchen, 1 prep kitchen, 1 butchery (We butcher our own farmed meats & our own game on-site)
  • Extensive well-established kitchen gardens.

Gardener | Full Time

Could your green fingers help in our Kitchen Garden? If you have a keen interest in gardening & horticulture and would like to be a part of The Ferry House team, in a fun, dynamic & aspiring business, we want to hear from you!

Our Front of House gardens are beautifully kept to a wedding ready standard at all times, and our cottage accommodation also has grounds and gardens to maintain. Our Kitchen Gardens, which are open to the public, are extensive - with 2 polytunnels, greenhouse, and ever-expanding beds which provide our chefs with the very best ingredients. You'll work alongside our existing gardener Harry, under the management of Natalie our Head Gardener. This is a permanent role, working Monday-Friday majority of the year, a Saturday OR Sunday may be required in place of a weekday in the height of summer to keep on top of watering your hours will be 7.30am-4pm with a minimum half hour break. Preferably a 5-day week - however a 4 or 4.5 day week can be accommodated in preferred.

Housekeeper | Part Time | 1-2 days a week including 1 weekend day

Calling all meticulous housekeepers, who take pride in making sure things are 'just so'! Your valuable contribution keeps us looking our venue-best for guests. If you're motivated and a bit of a perfectionist, find out how you can join our friendly housekeeping team.

Bartenders & Table Runners | Part Time & Full Time

We're looking for those dedicated & confident in ensuring our guests have a fantastic hospitality experience at our award-winning AA Rosette restaurant & events venue. You'll take pride in all jobs, from cocktail making, to keeping the bar super clean, as well as our unique homegrown, family farmed dining ethos. But most importantly, we're looking for someone with a big personality to welcome to our Ferry House family - we like a few laughs, so bring your A game!

We will have vacancies opening up in March for full-time and part-time bar and waiting positions offering set shifts or flexitime. All positions range from permanent to seasonal positions to suit candidates' needs - all roles include at least 1 weekend shift or Friday evening shift.
