VACANCY: Gardener at Communigrow, East Malling

Could you be our new Community Gardener? Are you passionate about the environment and encouraging our communities to maintain greater health and wellbeing? This is an exciting opportunity to join a unique charity that brings the whole community together in celebration of the growing, harvesting and cooking of fresh produce. We now require a Community Gardener to be a team member involved in all aspects of growing vegetables and herbs. You will be contributing to the planning, growing, harvesting and distribution of produce. Suit person with considerable experience of horticulture who would enjoy working with a charity. Post is part time 30 hours a week, £17,160 per annum. Subject to future funding to become full time. Communigrow, a registered charity, is a community food growing project that aims to reconnect people with where their food comes from and to enjoy local, healthy, sustainable, affordable food. We run sessions for schools, adults with support needs and other groups and individuals, enabling them to participate in the full cycle of growing fresh vegetables and herbs. We support young people and adults who have a variety of mental health, learning disability or physical disabilities and those who may simply need a little extra support to re-establish their self-confidence or sense of purpose.
