VACANCY: Society Event Business & Development Executive at Kent County Agricultural Society

Are you searching for an exciting new opportunity to develop your career? We are currently hiring for a Society Event, Business & Development Executive to join our team here at the Kent Showground! The successful applicant will take the lead on one of our key Society events, Farm Expo, as well as organising the thriving trade section of the Kent County Show and supporting with wider Society activities.

Role Requirements & Responsibilities

Farm Expo Event Lead:

– To be the prime organiser of Farm Expo with the support of the General Manager
and Society Events Team leader.

– To plan and implement catering and services.

– To plan and organise all trade stand holders, research potential new traders and secure bookings.

– To plan the structure of show layouts.

– To assist with advertising and booking of personalities for seminars where required.

– To complete and manage the health and safety requirements of the event including
risk assessments.

– To help with any other areas as required.

Kent County Show Trade:

– To research and contact companies and individuals who could be potential trade
sales to help reach the Kent County Agricultural Society financial objectives.

– To help design, prepare and send out all trade forms and other relevant literature
for mailing to exhibitors using the Showing Scene booking system.

– To manage the Kent County Show map for trade stands and allocate stand space.
To keep the map updated using an AutoCAD based system.

– As and when requested, to visit potential leads and customers to discuss their
requirements. To attend networking meetings as required.

– To work alongside the Senior Marketing Coordinator to manage social media across
all platforms for trade stand related content.

– To complete the preparation of the trade elements of the Kent County Show
schedule and catalogue.

– To plan, organise and work with volunteer committees on the specialist feature
areas of the Show. This will require minute taking of meetings and working with
committee ideas.

– To complete the organisation of services linked to the trade stands and specialist
areas.

– Maintain hard copy and electronic filing systems.

– Develop procedures for contacting and qualifying leads, updating prospect details and completing competitor research and analysis.

– To complete all administrative tasks associated with the trade section and work with
the rest of the team to ensure the Show is well organised.

Other duties and responsibilities:

– To assist in other Society Events as required.

– Research organisations and individuals, identifying new leads and potential new markets
relevant to all Society events.

– Plan, organise and report sales activity against agreed Kent County Agricultural Society
objectives.

– Generate leads and finalise deals with companies and individuals who could be potential
partners to achieve the Kent County Agricultural Society financial objectives.

– Attend local networking meetings, relevant events and conferences as required.

– The job holder may be required to perform other duties assigned by the General Manager
from time to time.

– Knowledge of outdoor events

– Working with volunteers
