Visit Britain’s Oldest Brewer and unlock the secrets of the Brewer’s art.
The Shepherd Neame Brewery in Faversham is an independent family company dedicated to producing excellent Kentish Ales and speciality lagers. As a company it is also committed to the local community and environment.
Award winning guided tours of the brewery take place most days throughout the year. Visitors are guided through the history of the brewery from the earliest times to the present day, and are shown how malt, water from the brewery’s artesian well and distinctive Kentish hops are combined to make ‘The Drink of England’. After digesting terms such as ‘tuns’, ‘wort’ and ‘fermenters’ there is a chance to sample the finished products with a tutored tasting of six of our Kentish Ales and speciality lagers.
After the tour and tasting our Brewery Shop offers a great range of breweriana, branded clothing, books and souvenirs, plus, of course our great range of ales by the bottle or case.
The tours are very popular so advanced booking is recommended.
If you are looking for more than a tour we can offer a number of evening dining experiences including an ‘Evening Tour and Ales Samplers’ Supper’ and a ‘Beer and Food Matching Evening’. All meals are home-cooked, from freshly prepared local ingredients.
