Green Herring was founded in 2015 as the private dining arm to our established wedding catering company Chives the Caterers. Green Herring is named after Graham's award winning restaurant in Australia and it's where he gets to create bespoke dishes & more intricate dishes. We cater for both private & corporate events, intimate weddings, parties & launches and have now have added a consultancy arm to help our industry maintain high standards both front and back of house.
The beauty of using a small business is that we really get to understand what our clients want and we can play our part in making their events perfect with both stunning food and great service.
We are based on a farm in the Kent Countryside with great local suppliers as well as produce from the farm itself. We currently make chilled dishes from the farms produce weekly which can be bought from the amazing vending machine 24/7.
In the last year of course hospitality has been hit hard but we have kept busy making meals for the local foodbanks, over 5,500 so far, as well as making some of our amazing pies to sell locally, and creating amazing chilled prepared menus for New Years Eve, Valentines and Mother's Day.
We are so looking forward to working on events and we will be resuming our pop ups on the farm as soon as we can so if you are planning an event, corporate or private, whether it's just canapes or a 3 course meal do get in touch.
