Frasers announces new Lazy Sunday feasting menus for summer

A taste of Spain is heading for the Kent countryside, as Frasers of Egerton introduces its tantalising new feasting menus for the summer season.

Following the popularity of Frasers’ shared feasting banquets, which launched in the autumn, the venue is introducing some summer-ready experiences for families and friends to enjoy together over the warmer months.

Its new Lazy Sundays dining option launches on 29th May, with shared feasts that have a decisively Spanish theme – yet made using only the very best locally sourced ingredients, as is always the case at Frasers. And you’d expect no less, I’m sure, from the recently crowned winner of Taste of Kent’s Sustainable Food and Drink Award!

Five Lazy Sundays ‘paella pods’ for groups of 10 people each are available to book every Sunday throughout the summer – or all five pods can be reserved together for private parties of 40-50 people.

Guests will enjoy an informal banquet of chicken and chorizo paella, mixed garden leaves, homemade bread from a local artisan producer, and a jug of Sangria for the table. They will be able to watch the chefs cook the paella in front of them, savouring the aromas of Spain before tucking in to enjoy the flavours.

Couples and smaller groups can indulge in the Lazy Sundays paella menu from tables in the Oak Barn restaurant or adjoining covered terrace.

The paella pods and tables are booked for arrival from 1pm, with food served at around 2pm. The cost is £22.50 per person and alternative options for vegetarians are available upon request.

For one day only, on Father’s Day (Sunday 19th June), Lazy Sundays paella will be replaced by a family barbecue feast, including favourites such as local beef brisket, pulled Egerton pork, venison burgers, local sausages and a selection of delicious salads. Vegetarian options will include garden vegetable kebabs and roasted vegetable & garden herb couscous.

Father’s Day bookings can be made for 10 people in the gorgeous garden pods or, for smaller groups, on the south terrace of the Oak Barn overlooking the rose garden. The cost per person for the family barbecue feast is £29.50 for one course or £38 for two courses, or for children under 12 it costs £15 for one course and £22.50 for two courses.

Proprietor Lisa Fraser says, “Our informal feasting menus proved really popular during the autumn and winter, so we wanted to create something similar for the summer but better suited to the warmer weather. Our new paella feasting menu brings together the delicious flavours of Spain with the finest local ingredients. Surrounded by idyllic countryside and glorious nature walks, Frasers really is the perfect place to get together with friends or family for a welcome catch-up or summer celebration.”

For those with something extra special to celebrate or looking for a slightly more exclusive experience, Frasers offers a private Chef’s Table experience with overnight accommodation provided for up to 10 people in the fabulous Stags Barn. Frasers’ head chef will prepare a six-course tasting menu in front of guests, describing the home-grown, foraged and locally sourced ingredients used in each of the dishes. The cost per person is £200 to include Chefs Table six-course tasting menu plus exclusive use and an overnight stay in Stag’s Barn (minimum of 8 guests booking requirement – additional guests can be accommodated in six nearby rooms on the farm, hosting up to 18 people in total).

Frasers’ normal hospitality options of Breakfast, Garden and Lunch menus, a six-course taster menu, group feasting menu, and Field to Fork menu are available Thursday to Sunday. As well as a choice of dining, overnight stays are available for those looking to extend their visit, with accommodation for up to 20 people in Frasers’ luxurious bedrooms and suites, situated across three beautiful period buildings at the farm.

Located in Egerton, just 20 minutes from junction 8 on the M20, Frasers is an idyllic haven of calm on a 300-acre working estate comprising a restaurant, garden terraces, hotel accommodation and a contemporary barn used for self-catering holidays, weddings and events.

Frasers is easily reached by car and has plenty of parking. If travelling by train, there is a fast service from London to Ashford International station where taxis are available.
